SAFETY

We always attach great importance to safety in everything we do. It is a fundamental principle in our work, and we make sure that all necessary safety measures are in place. We always have first aid kits available, so we are prepared to deal with any unforeseen incidents quickly and efficiently. This gives both us and those we work with peace of mind, and shows our commitment to putting safety first in all situations.

                              The Norwegian Mountain Code

  1. Plan your trip and report where you are going.

  2. Customize the trip according to ability and conditions.

  3. Pay attention to weather and avalanche forecasts.

  4. Be prepared for inclement weather and cold, even on short trips.

  5. Bring the necessary equipment to be able to help yourself and others.

  6. Make safe choices. Recognize avalanche-prone terrain and unsafe ice.

  7. Use a map and compass. Always know where you are.

  8. Turn around in time, there's no shame in turning around.

  9. Conserve your strength and seek shelter if necessary.

MAP AND NAVIGATION

Our team is always well prepared when it comes to navigation in the mountains. We make sure that we have correct and reliable equipment, such as GPS units and other electronic navigation equipment, that we constantly keep up to date. Should the electronic equipment fail, we are never unable to navigate – we always carry a map and compass, and are fully competent in using these traditional navigation tools. This gives us extra peace of mind, as we are always prepared to handle different conditions and challenges in the mountains.

EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS

Our team has undergone thorough avalanche courses and has good knowledge of how to identify, avoid and manage avalanche risk. We place an extremely high focus on this, as our safety is our highest priority. That's why we always make sure to carry essential avalanche equipment such as search sticks, avalanche transceivers and avalanche shovels, and we know exactly how to use it in an emergency. By having both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, we are better equipped to handle the risks of mountain activities, and we are always prepared to react quickly in the event of an accident.
